These are ODWC's statewide deer seasons for 2026 to 2027, and dates on public land can differ:
Archery is the only season open during the peak ODWC describes. Muzzleloader closes November 1, and by the November 21 gun opener ODWC says the peak has passed, though some gun hunters still see rutting activity.

Oklahoma hunters took about 134,000 deer in the 2025 to 2026 seasons, the second-best total on record. Antlerless deer made up 45 percent, leaving about 74,000 antlered deer.
The gun seasons (regular, youth and holiday antlerless) took about 79,000 deer, archery just over 39,000 and muzzleloader about 15,600.

About 95 percent of Oklahoma is privately owned. ODWC manages about 1.5 million acres at more than 100 sites, and its lands, about 4 percent of the state, gave up nearly 7 percent of the 2025 to 2026 deer harvest.
The Land Access Permit ($100 for residents, $200 for nonresidents) covers about 92,000 acres of leased private land in the Oklahoma Land Access Program and about 250,000 acres in the Honobia Creek and Three Rivers WMAs in the southeast. OLAP walk-in tracts ban slugs, rifles and muzzleloaders, so deer there are a bowhunt. On Department land, stands must be portable, and stands, blinds and cameras need your customer ID number.

A date on a calendar can't tell you which spot to sit. RackIQ weighs the rut phase for your part of Oklahoma against the wind, your way in, the pressure already on the ground and what you've seen there, then says hunt it or save it. The Scored Call™ is checked afterward, and every hunt you log makes the next call sharper.
